Cleaning
Cleaning sponges
If you use sponges or washcloths for your dishes or cleaning, make
sure that you either soak them in bleach water or run them through the
washing machine often w/bleach to disinfect.
Hard Water Spots
- To remove hard water spots cover the stains with paper towels soaked
in white vinegar. Leave them in the for an hour, then scrub with a
little baking soda.
Fresh Scents
- Use a dab of perfume or cologne right near the light bulbs. When
it heats up it will fill the room with the fragrance.
Ironing Creases - Use
wax to iron the crease in clothes. Sandwich the wax paper around the
crease area and iron on top of the wax paper. It leaves a little of the
wax in the material (especially cotton) so that the crease would stay in
longer. And use the wax paper to run the iron over it to keep the iron
slick.
Linens
Fresh Clothes
To keep clothes in the drawers or blankets smelling fresh, store with an
unwrapped bar soap.
Storing
Linens - Get more linens
and towels into a small space by folding them neatly, then rolling them
up tightly.

Beauty
Facial Scrub
-Try Baking Soda as an
invigorating, yet gentle, facial scrub. Apply a paste of 3 parts Baking
Soda to 1 part water in a gentle circular motion after washing face with
soap and water. Rinse clean for a fresh scrubbed face! (Sonya)
Food
No Stick Pasta -To
prevent pasta from boiling over and sticking together, add some butter
or oil and salt. Always add the pasta to the water after it has boiled,
not before.
To keep bugs out of
flour type products; flour, cornmeal, etc.. add a bay leaf to each
canister. Works like magic. (Steve H)
Coffee
Budgeting - Have a favorite coffee
but it costs too much? Buy it and some regular coffee and just add a
little bit of your favorite to the regular, it tastes like your favorite
and cheaper then just using your favorite alone.
